Our Style
Our photography is about so much more than just making pretty pictures. We’re there to document the good, the bad, and everything in between. It’s our hope that by looking through your album, you’ll be able to relive the day from start to finish.
Documentary Photography
We consider ourselves documentary photographers first.
Every photographer has a different definition of what it means to be a documentary photographer. What we mean is simply that we want to capture candid and natural moments first.
Our goal is to capture real emotions and what actually happened on your wedding day.
We do our best to be a fly on the wall. We use cameras that are smaller, quieter and less obtrusive so that we aren’t a distraction.
Wedding days are rarely perfect, and that imperfection is part of what makes reliving those memories feel authentic and not manufactured. We want to capture everything.
Emilie is interactive. As a woman she’s more sensitive to a bride’s perspective.
Very few of us are models, and she’s always quick to step in when someone needs a little help to look their best.
On the contrary, she captures the happenings of the room from the perspective of a fly on the wall; an observer and wants to keep herself out of the happenings as much as possible but is not afraid to help zip up the bride or fix a broken strap.
Our favorite images are the in between moments.
The ones you don’t realize are happening but tell the story of the day.
What about the portraits?
Yes, we still love to do portraits of you and your partner! Our goal is to help you be candid and natural and not put you into positions that feel awkward. We like to give prompts and not poses. We find that we get the best stuff when you are just enjoying being with your partner.
What about the Family pictures?
The best way to document your family is to do it naturally! We think you’ll love the candid and real moments more than the posed. But we’re happy to line everyone up if you want that classic shot with everyone in it. It’s no problem!
