Wayah Bald Elopement- First Look and Ceremony- Franklin, North Carolina- 2/4
Next stop after Kristi and Dave’s cabin in Franklin, NC: A trip up the mountain to Wayah Bald, a historical stone fire-tower overlooking a breath-taking view of our Blue Ridge Mountains. We are in love with Wayah Bald. With easy access and a paved walk up to the tower, Wayah Bald is one of our favorite spots to shoot weddings. It is on the beautiful and historic Appalachian Trail, and the tower has beautifully worn stone walls that are wide enough to climb on and take in the world. These are a few reasons why Kristi and Dave chose Wayah Bald for their first look, ceremony, and family photos.
Sometimes when we shoot up at Wayah Bald, the clouds are covering us (literally!). As the clouds shift, the view opens up and reveals the grandeur of our Blue Ridge Mountains. We have never been disappointed in the heavens’ display. Everything is better when you are on top of the mountains. The air is crisp and clean. The temperature is always about 10 degrees cooler than the drive up, which brings couples closer. We are always surprised and gratified at the gift of beauty; the layers, the colors, the wildflowers, and the changing leaves.
