Hawkesdene- The Jewel of the Mountains
Hawkesdene is perfect. I can’t say anything less or say it in any other way. A perfect venue includes an experienced team, deliberately beautiful grounds, and owners that care. Phil and Rob are not only the owners, but they work every stage and step of the wedding process.
Rob sets up tables and chairs, communicates with his team to coordinate everything- and this man does it all with a smile on his face. He is such a fantastic listener. I remember visiting Hawkesdene a while back when this venue was at the top of my list (to get my foot into the door). I called and made an appointment, then sat in the luxurious living room next to the grand piano and talked photography with Rob. I was blown away by his encouragement and willingness to work with us.
Phil heads up the kitchen area with pizazz. Every platter, every glorious board and bowl that comes out of that kitchen is to die for. The berry crumble in the cast iron pan, the salmon, the ice-cream sandwiches at midnight on the dance floor. Nothing could be better. Nothing is timed more perfectly. Phil also heads up the design and upkeep of the grounds. Hawkesdene is gorgeous every season of the year. The landscaping joins the wild forest with grace and bold colors.
Jami is the events manager and the day-of coordinator. Everybody loves Jami. We should make shirts and bumper stickers. Seriously, she deserves a crown for taking care of every last detail. She has endless energy and sass, which we absolutely love. What a great team you have Hawkesdene, WE LOVE YOU! (PS- Jami makes those ice cream sandwiches. Words can not describe!!!!)
We are honored to be on Hawkesdene’s “preferred vendor” list for photography. At Hawkesdene, folks are looking for something special, something intimate. When I hear the words hiking, bonfires, dancing the night away, brunch, chilling together- I start getting giddy.
