Mountain Morning Microwedding with Brunch Tent

This Blue Ridge mountaintop neighborhood wedding blew us away. From the reception tent set on the pickleball court right outside the family home to the brunch-style catering, this small wedding seemed to have all the feels. We loved the modern-vintage combo that White Pheasant Design brought together. The textures and layering was so beautiful and unique. Everything Nina and Parker chose was so simple and so elegant, like a garden party meets ball. We loved Parker’s bowtie and suit color- so handsome! Nina’s dress was stunning. I remember shooting the back of the dress when the ladies were helping her zip up and the bottom layer of lace was something so unique and lovely, from an era gone by. Also, let me not skip the sister’s dresses- total garden party and cool and easy. They were like a walking bouquet, which I am a big fan of.

To pull off this morning mountaintop wedding, the whole neighborhood came together and lent golf carts, drivers and even cabins and parking spots. It was a sight to behold to watch the caravan of golf carts bringing guests from one spot on the mountain to the reception. Five Forks is a community on top of the mountains in Martins Creek community located between Murphy, NC and Blairsville, GA.

Sunrise Elopement at Look Rock Observation Tower

A sunrise elopement with private vows, a tiny homemade bouquet and cinnamon rolls completed these nuptials on the Foothills Parkway in Tennessee. This elopement turned out to be absolute perfection at a lovely location in the woods. We started our hike in the dark from the parking area a half hour before sunrise and reached the watch tower just at daybreak. The sunset that followed was so wonderful with the peek fall colors popping over the mountains (our favorite is the winding road in the distance). Look Rock Observation Tower is a hidden gem location. We loved the huge boulders and trail that was so easy peasy to hike; paved most of the way.

For us, as photographers, it’s so sweet to watch couples say their vows to each other in a private setting. This happens a lot at big weddings, don’t get me wrong, but a true elopement with just the couple is raw and so real. There’s no big party to rush to or guests to entertain and feed. Our couples can just be with each other and time slows down. Plus, cinnamon rolls, y’all!

Helton Creek Waterfall Micro-Wedding in North Georgia

Calling all waterfall lovers! Our couple, Jessica and Kyle, decided to tie the knot at one of our favorite local waterfalls in north Georgia. Helton Creek Falls is located in the lower area of Blairsville, GA. There are two different ways to get there. One route is through the forest and a creek crossing (this is called a ford and is a bit scary when it’s a new experience.) The main way is through the cutest neighborhood that seems like one of those neighborhoods where everyone knows everyone’s cats and shares eggs and milk. It’s beautiful the whole drive in because of the cottages and the tall trees. There is moss everywhere with mountain laurel and rhododendron trees making it feel magical. I am a sucker for ferns and rocks and an even bigger sucker for creeks and waterfalls and Helton Creek has two falls!!! So, imagine how much I love it.

There’s a boardwalk and sitting area at the main falls at the end of the trail with handrails and paths for most of the hike. I call it a hike for sure because there are lots of steps and plenty of places to get a little muddy or dirty if it has rained recently. The trails are under a canopy of tall forest so everything is pretty damp and plush. Chattahoochee National Forest offers such a diverse forest floor with a lush valley and old-growth hemlock trees.
